He is again -- and he recently got a pair of custom made headphones -- that were talking about in the break room for 45 minutes and maybe we can just average about that so maybe you talk about after telling radios. I at -- speaking of radio lets get to the stories of the day lady that. I dont wanna switch the order of the rundown because that we have -- here but I wanted to talk about. Drive in Peters first look at it on -- and actually go into an outdoor movie festival tonight -- Tompkins square park. That every week during the summer. With like different parks around the city to show outdoor movies and tonight Im gonna Tompkins too much room in Juliette that 1985. -- an adaptation. With Leonardo DiCaprio click in 1990 found -- 85 yes does that crazy ants yes. Off -- it makes me feel real young -- it does it does it does but you know drive in -- also make us feel really old and thats something that. It was after I was I before our generation -- no no no Ill just an edit. A lot of my youth is characterized by going to those drive in theaters on a Friday and never -- -- one really you have -- -- -- it was and these ghost thing we know the first drive in theater was started in Camden, New Jersey. That might be true but they went extinct way before I was old enough -- to go to -- you mind does not have gone itself. Richard have you been -- -- data for -- not very much though -- -- huge deal to me it sounds like the dumbest idea well its its not dumb its just. Hard to set up because in places like big cities. You need a lot of space right well theres not a huge vacant parking lot three instead of an eighty foot screen. Right obviously cant do an in place like Manhattan -- but in in of suburbia its perfect for that put. Its just not it doesnt work with -- Other cets of culture now in but you pretty much needed like a leather jacket and a convertible. -- -- -- on your drive out it does thats the stereotype but I remember going with my mily -- -- maybe like you know six or seven. And Gothenburg dressing up I would Wear my pajamas to the movie theater because a lot of drive in theaters they showed double features right to -- movies. And out hed like a six hour event that you go to -- your mily so I purposefully dress up. They knew Id ll asleep in a car during one of the movies. Will it be with him and I dont know I just you got this like Cali going on with your hair and it doesnt look like -- And you look like youre Hungarys if you can. I dont I dont like it -- and talking about drive that are gonna like greased lightning you have read it. You know now I cant say anything imagine there was like an Asian guy in the T birds to -- amazing -- like the intern from the neighborhood has bowed his name alignment -- and -- This site embarrasses them for their part is theres no way like John Travolta would have treated they would have treated him at the -- -- you know I -- -- not an option. And if there is a Jewish guy in their group. Managers can. He would have been the accountant if it was the guy with the wanted to do because you know we cant afford all the -- -- -- we keep getting really into all these cattle like about a product I -- -- -- -- and its gonna take for this is that right are all that and those -- -- -- -- -- I am tired you know daycare bowl. Oil this -- I remember they use a coin operated intercom system in order to pipe the sound from the movie the audio from the movie into your car. Itd actually be in your -- now all the modern -- and it is they have like FM transmitters. Arm but the old ones they -- disputes have to stand up next year car itd be elected -- going into a drive through st food restaurant right like it would just. -- this terrible quality audio lecture right because thats the best way to enjoy a movie -- is having one speaker yet like on the right side. It -- like per per firfer address line and it it it would be in like fifteen or twenty minute. Increments to -- have to put an extra indeed like a meter -- a parking and that was your payment for the movement that was how you put things and then -- edited way to get there again I cant edit access fears itll boot right and then made all their money off of like concession stand up I dont know -- Its just to me I hope he now but I second birthday is like definitely something to do. -- do 36 months. Frenzied -- dark Ill put him park yeah its auto output ahead Obama well be out as sort of -- terminator right now right well this is great. And I dont I mean yes thats thats a bit of battery and happier vision is impeded but that your own -- -- -- -- -- It really added the most absurd thing that I have done the worst part it is I remember going in the middle of summertime like in July. And peculiar to this and know thats -- thing that youre not allowed to keep in general I -- Yeah you cant I dont think youd just be sweating your thers car cility underneath the -- a really long similarities stand up. Routine about how stupid drive and that really has pretty doctors -- I know were deconstructing the hell out of there right now but -- -- -- with me they were -- -- -- down now but it I went and I mean is it on that board thats why they dont exist anymore your rights are like that that yes that there are only about 350. Left. Out of a lot more back -- that early eighties at 350 for the country yet 350 for the country on in the 1950s. At 4000. Cook gave an hour about 1% and sixty years ago it was cool when we were just -- Youre debating an oil and gasoline ride you have thats how much we had to do that. You know a suce of it yes it now or like a little. We you know maybe you could run your hybrid car not disturb anyone -- anything -- it does anybody it and there you go green I were on the -- and if you plug in at the theater to. -- -- that equal or the DD Bluetooth headphones now. Youre talking a little bit has now I think the technology actually would be I think the experience would be better now and is especially you know even the the the -- -- of cars have four speakers in -- bright red pipe in the Bluetooth audio topic. The greatest quality in the world and I think were -- -- something here grid now were now. Were doing is its never gonna be negative -- you need to read the statement and its a hot commodity you can thats true. Com -- anyway so a lot of them are going out of business anyway and no surprise its because of the conversion to digital projection. So a lot of studious I think by the end of this year -- gonna stop shipping out 35 millimeters. Film the -- is that true Ive heard that yet there -- amount yes that definitely all going to -- -- I know films are still shot on the bright but theyre not actually sending and not on not all of them now. That to me Im kind of blown away -- the how st thats happened yet only been over the past. Fifteen years yes -- -- -- okay. On -- -- cost about . Dollars to convert. Your standard drive in movie theater screen digital. And out obvious theres a lot of stuff to deal with -- with the -- that -- to buy and things like that but according to united drive in theater owners association. About -- -- -- sixty -- have -- converted. And -- that theres an article that I found thats kind of interesting its on on -- -- And -- they talk about one theater projector that converted to digital last year -- in Lancaster Ohio. And for some reason theres a lot of traffic is content not a lot of stuff going on that is about it -- still existence in existence in Lancaster alone. So -- -- you know a lot of them are. Actually taking to social media. In order to raise funds or for that conversion dollars -- lot of money right. Yeah I guess this is -- to Peter hi actually put me on to this the other day but -- actually had this really cool. Campaign right now -- launch last Friday its called project drive him to check this out this is Peter -- article that he wrote about it on Gizmodo. But -- gonna foot the bill for that dollars. For five drive in transitions to digital and now you can actually donate to -- go go to a campaign that will help the ones that dont win this contest. So if you have a drive in theater in your city. I gotta do is Id go to this website project drive in dot com you can vote for the theater in your city that you wanna -- -- dollar campaign to. And then if yours gets picked. It gets to stay alive and even if it doesnt you could still donate today in -- campaign to get it. Does keep it afloat now. I think thats a noble cause right its cool I like I like like the branding of it with like the neon yeah I think thats like a nice little throwback thing yeah thats awesome. Oh what Peter talked about this being you know obviously this is a promotional deal for corporate company -- you know I -- Totally supportive of this you know even if it does -- corporate backing he wrote. -- -- left because we just havent sit here Ive -- name is that you bought it yet. I dont care that is the publicity stunt its something we should -- get behind -- everyone. Everyone you know if you get behind is for. This is our main primary. Are -- for all the junk kick start a campaigns and -- ego campaigns out there at least we can do is come together with them like this how old is he goes thinkable all the memories your first kiss. Your last blind date yeah your first -- Wait a minute with a perfect. You -- oh no thats just me adding that it. Hes I think about it -- first hand gee should I is that where you got -- drag and Ive never been alive. Right I gave my first one the idea that. Only. Let alone. Man I inherited I guess I didnt ever prepping your comedy -- -- -- and I Im Im thrown credible on seeing -- -- Ive never been to drive and I guess -- before I dont understand. -- I have was left out of this that your parents dont love you. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Agassi is give you -- video game system in -- yeah in the manual and today were on auto pilot for 28 years and see what happens didnt fine. You you -- -- -- and then go to project drive in dot com and vote for your local drive in theater its an important cause. Its gonna Im gonna put that -- -- is not important to. Lets take money out of those donation bins and just put it right into your empty all those anti a you know aids prevention you have stand up to cancer and yet. -- next story of the day its -- silly and has absolutely nothing to do with technology but just put it in here anyway. I you wanna -- whats going on in China the should be I thought youre the authority on all things China. I guess not. You know who would now. Ever want you know we bring up Wilson a lot because he yeah do we -- never talk to bring -- -- maybe like five times a year. Either way he always defended China regardless rightly -- if they were like Kilmer -- -- good program I wrote that. Anyway I would love to see him defend this because its completely absurd Chinese zoo -- whats the problem. What that -- religious groups have not. Rigid as a read this headline the headline reads China is -- under fire for disguising -- as well I am. I guess its not an onion article this is real this actually is as happened. A Chinese do. -- -- African lion. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Only -- -- middle school trip and youre going to the you know to the to the zoo and you coming you say all look at this African lion and -- airlines that -- -- -- Maria not to mention that you paid. Fifteen -- one. Or two dollars and 45 cents to -- -- line. What these -- and rocket scientist in in in China did was they they disguise this Tibetan Mastiff. Which is a really big dog and its super hairy and I also like Patti teased all its -- It does it look like a main yet they only -- does. You know than the -- from its neck and right which I think is really adorable to give it like a line cut exactly did soda lemonade lion that you sit on a leash also yeah. I dont know but the tiny lines like I -- column -- -- -- -- our artists the teacher Billick. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- And lifting it delayed -- -- -- and not good its not ferocious that all you have to wait a minute its African dog via. Wow really cute its adorable. I dont I dont I dont understand like you -- -- could never fly. In in places where the theres no ship on the Internet right it is known could just take their phone is that true -- -- being completely ignorant about. Censorship and in China but. Cam like regional you know and the Internet right theres a big -- -- -- -- -- a great kind of firewall if it reminds me have -- it reminds me of that vice episode on North Korea. Yeah of course were dividing -- and -- where -- -- -- guys go and they go into like a computer lab right and the best part about that with everyone and in its North Korean computer that. They were just. Touching the keyboard -- -- but not doing anything yet so they were there it is I can hear us to see how technologically advanced already into the real world Google again yeah we have a Google evident that theyve taken into this huge computer -- But none of the screens had any movement on this is the latest no side rolling guess is theyll icons -- anytime that its just a blank desktop computer. And there are people just sitting there at the daughter -- hands been Leo wherever the key that. No movement detected a -- no amounts of disconnected to make it its all ke its like an idea he -- showroom yet nothings real. It is one -- -- like it. So I guess were going kind of honoring here but yeah so what happened is. They go to the -- guy -- like moving around right and they start inquiring theyre like -- would be dealing guy you know hes like. Im just. But working on my documents yeah and -- like what does that mean hes like Ive important money s that I need right. Examine an opening closed yeah it over it was weird its -- dont watch that HBO ocean -- vice show is that bad episode was mind blowing anyway this seems sort of a trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes yet is going on in this. In this Chinese do. Why Chinese people or d.s Chinese people think that they can get away with a bullet thats it its a phenomenon thats actually really common in China now ever seen an article about it appears that we could show -- on screen. But theres this weird phenomenon about. Dressing your pets up to look like different kinds of animals -- here to non. On and on and costumes we do that not -- -- the light rain boots on -- and you too -- not like that now but I mean my -- its crazy but -- -- that does this phenomenon about jets in your dogs have to look like candidate or -- obviously pandas are endangered. And so they do this state where they build died -- and tired. Doggett a mask -- light and -- theyll -- certain parts of its ears and a stripe on its neck and its -- black to make it look at panda. Its so weird looked at the -- and an Indian make their dogs what I -- is an integral and its kind of its kind of cool adorable but torture is to. Right I I I would odd for QII. I would imagine thats the thing is its not humiliating. Because dogs theyre not so anyway feel. Humiliation can then -- emotions but they dont have. They could probably feel a thick coat of paint on right and thats what I thats I think its its it it lls into the abuse category -- because its unnecessary chemicals being used. But lets be honest its where it got I -- that irregular or -- and I and I and that ultimately I would imagine the dog. Doesnt suffer and how is this photo -- be -- -- picture -- -- so going to be that tiger dogs pretty cool the tigers more Ive by the tiger more than -- buy this for him lion on Canada. Line is not a button at some quotes from this story. Just. Are the icing on the cake. This is not funny at all its set for both the zoo animal. They should at least use a husky to pretend to visual. Media of which is true. Those those husky dont look like will. Theres what they should have done that theyre gonna try and fool the Chinese people they shouldve use the husky. Hall and is a picture of that is another photo of fed -- just of that line. Its a big -- -- -- Its yeah all the -- is dont go around -- their tongue sticking -- daddy and start looking people -- -- they usually eat your cing -- yeah yeah. That is so stupid. -- this. Its its -- man is. Its that its not said for the dog the dog whatever hes hes. On their feet -- and treat them well whatever dogs there was in captivity -- just like people who go there and and theyre just not as. Its not as stupid as they would like us today. -- thats terrifying and -- -- educating -- kids. But I dont think if youll believe it theres no way. Itll look for world may be -- and -- line before which is seen well maybe not the great firewall its me. And lines are all banned from -- what do you think about that. But the Chinese -- like what do you think thatll that Im asking you just as you Chinese. I mean the weird thing is that -- we realize this until. A couple weeks ago but on they have a huge ban on video gains since the early ninetys data -- to begin. Up until recently you havent been able to even buy a console any kind of video games Im sure youve -- -- imported on the on the black market right right. So black and towards -- yet. Yes thats kind of crazy to -- its gotten its super says. Are all right lets lets move on -- to -- less silly story -- we talk about only dating a lot. And you know okay -- it always releases these random studies where they sort of it they sort of in peer please take easily this data for about their users that they get from questionnaires and surveys and things -- it take on the site. But -- they use that match data is sort of glean information about their users and then sort of developed trends based -- -- -- -- me -- until we learn about. You know how people act in relationships based on these studies and the latest OK cupid -- actually isnt. Done by -- -- -- its Apples done by some of program called recovery dot org. And theyre all about addiction recovery. -- the founder they connect an experiment. On -- keep it where they created forty proved forty ke profiles -- twenty men and twenty when. -- -- this out Christmas check actually blog about this on CNET. And the -- to sort of figure out how easy it would be for both genders to cheat on -- -- But of course there are already sites dedicated to this like Ashley Madison for example that. Is exists it exists solely for the purpose of -- -- people that want to commit adultery and more and more. Research needs to be done yeah I cant believe thats a real site seems that these children -- a Super Bowl ad. -- super amoled and they are still -- company. Yes its -- theyre doing its people are using the survey again that people really love it I guess that ray has replaced casual encounters with the but I really like keel line. -- I think I guess I. Are -- man its scary. Is it what is says the single guy thats real talk that -- the stuff actually happens whether OK -- -- online and of course. Its and its not -- legal -- its not you know you know with only. So anyway on OK cupid that they went on -- -- been immediate forty ke profiles to sort of see who has an easier time cheating. And how easy it would be for -- -- cheap compared to someone whos just single intricately look at it yeah. And so on so without -- connected these experiments and I want to show the actual. Graphic -- devastated -- -- -- to the hard cold data here it is so they identified. These people to four different categories right. One was the brazen cheater in Dallas -- guy who actually wrote in his profile Im married. Im in a relationship but. I dont know I dont really Im not really sure about my current partner and I wanna step back then so Im really when it she is of people that are advertising and greatly right now those are the -- and cheaters. Then there -- the married navys. Then -- me -- these are the people that are married and committed. Well there wouldnt be opposed to getting a little -- -- -- -- like this self summary that they created for the married maybe says I wouldnt be here are -- -- ready for someone or something new. My next adventure right anyway if you think. We hes gonna stay with her page they dont stay together okay now its known who knows no. Dont know about it I dont know about it this is all behind their backs and and thats the next -- Madison is the probably not -- thing together and yeah -- OK cupid profiles either ke okay Kia profiles rights of these in the ke persona as they made up crash thats the married may be right. And -- also the recently taken. These are people that you know theyve recently met somebody whether all the website or offline in real life. But theyre not really sure about that either -- -- and mr. right. Which is -- because if you spend any time OK cupid you can designate yourself into three categories in terms if -- availability right you can be single. You to be married or you could be seen someone. And theres a lot of people that have that seeing someone tag. For themselves which is weird because if youre seeing someone would -- just deactivate your profile why would you keep your profile up. Unless you were looking to -- you guys will be speak and Latin you know it does that make sense but its weird how people designate themselves as seeing is that when its -- or just the -- mean for me I can only you know. Glance from the outside looking in right. And I I guess I get it you know they. People really want to have one toe in the water want to know. In the other thing you can do well enough if someone elses pond drive I guess thats the only thing I can on the set all this just makes me think about how easy it mustve been to cheat. Sixty years ago gap when no one knew about it. And there was just no accountability yet if you took a photo there are like sparks you can -- -- sympathetic. Could never do it privately -- couldnt just feel like under your shoulder like -- yet you have. It aint gonna tell all this exhaust and probably you guys all know there -- -- smelled a little bit. Right ahead and the plume of smoke would come up but I cant expect it to the photo -- I think. Like the late eighteen hundreds but either way. Of taking a photograph was not as easy as it is now right that a -- -- pop -- and it -- -- -- -- a -- Again and pray its hard back in the day and I -- there -- no -- internal -- -- that yeah definitely. Now you can get away you know in just the you can go online -- do evidence you know like I. I could just imagine and to me like thats what I find very interest to you think I would love to watch a show about people. A ke show about people who -- in -- all the ways -- trying cover themselves up the genre and theres no you can do it again. And if you do years you should work for the freaking Navy -- plus the ct that anybody. Is going on -- cupid and try to keep that a secret is ridiculous. Yeah right. Can see yours you know and Ive run into a lot of people co workers friends dont really yet that. Id I know in real life that Ive seen their profiles on -- cupid which workers dont worry about that. And you can now and I dont really Anna -- and -- its okay. Please send her by the following -- -- its -- by the phone anymore now -- by the what does phone and always by the the photos city fire -- What is it youre using your phone does not to make phone calls and -- benefit. -- yesterday its its -- -- their plus Ive also seen a lot of people in real life that -- a recognized him from OK cupid you know but weve never met before. So I dont know that theres no theres no promise of anonymity on the -- -- but it only getting back to the steady the last the last group was this sincerely singles. And this was a control group read these -- people that are just genuinely single look at fun yeah right. All these big data is for the forty profiles are set up lived in the most adulterous cities in the country which are identified by. Actually thats okay what are the cities with bacteria OK as I lying to make you guessed because I was pretty dont know if I got an LA -- -- -- theres no way though. Maybe New York youll see its probably cities that are so incredibly boring yes it is staff but I Cleveland. This clean -- there clearly is not there -- -- -- -- really boring city Tulsa Oklahoma no but close. Denver -- not there. About a hundred cities in here are Oklahoma City OK I was close Miami which is not boring but a party cities and -- and everyones been great ever go to McCain in Miami. Houston I dont know whats going on there youre not a boring cities. I dont know. Houston. Austin in DC. With read -- an interest in that list. The DC a little surprise Perez had that makes a lot of sense can -- wide aperture so okay what do you think the results were of this test keeping mails. Were easier but were were easy to contact in cheat with or do you think women who got more messages in one. I need to should be really easy question -- -- wanted to the other . Chance because. Obviously when it. Right if if there is a winner yet Urich talked to anybody thats a woman its on -- -- -- they get a barrage of its ridiculous like message after message. And according to this study. On in after one week. 336. Of the women were contacted. But they were all you can in the breeze and cheaters category -- -- that those were the easiest if you -- just outright transparent about it youre gonna get contact -- Because think about it -- and this is this is not. I dont think its like ist thing now but if you its if you I mean we know we -- those as we live in the real world yet if you are a woman. You would like to. In eight engage on any given night -- -- can -- Its very -- and no front no guarantee its gonna be like this started something permanent -- or forever I dont even less -- anything its that I think its more that you know. Women that are more open about just looking for casual are gonna get contact and no matter where you put -- you could write your phone number in about to install. Right and still get phone and phone calls after that. So its he had -- 336 of those women were ones that were just looking for 44. Of the men were also at the same way. So there are 44 or messages sent after -- went to those reasons -- use that were meant and that was definitely the highest but nowhere near that 336. Women outward. Contact that reason -- can -- right followed by made maybe it was an -- popular category. Then recently taken and and sincerely single with the smallest. So its where theyre still contact and a lot but not as much as the women that were looking it is. -- get nasty you know. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- unbelievable. -- should get on -- -- I thought okay you oh yeah there is oh woo okay its -- -- -- experience been freed is it weird. Its kind of weak -- -- of the weird I dont Dave very often -- it but I dont like three dates from Nia. I dont each temperament going to know what the differences are between. On team and experience and -- cupid -- this treatment experience because for my perspective. There are a lot of women that just have a lot of rules of -- profiles thats -- weird phenomenon but Im not sure about it guys would have. Like for example on the you read a lot of when -- profiles and youll see things like if youre a message me yet to be taller than. And you -- not have -- underground grammatical layers in your message and it better not be -- hi how are you you have to actually think about the mythical. And you cant have law hey you know its like. Awful link list. A figure that you cant message -- well thats because theyre paying for it or theyre paying for but they. They they could probably tired of getting -- tired of it and when youre online you have this expectation -- you can just design your own boyfriend right. So thats where that comes right right. I dont think its like them to get world there are lots rules and people dont get tons of methods like I dont announcements. And -- -- and I think. I think OK cupid is more people -- more looking to date because theyre just looking for on grind Ehrlich. Gregg -- but oh yeah it so yes people -- more serious about dating from blind -- do you know anyone who rocks the -- pretty hard. Yeah yeah the year down -- turn it began. When you think -- that. And now like it not your cup now. Sort of be explicit but is grinder really just for hook -- or are there people on grinder of a user for the same reason that you -- -- -- to look for relationship. I think there are people that do that and opera mini what you say -- on grinder.
